The right air blast cooler for your needs Air blast coolers make use of radiator-type, finned element blocks for cooling or heating of various media, one being a gas. Usually the media around the finning is air and inside media can be steam, water, air or oil, as is mostly the case. The finning significantly increases the surface area thereby reducing the overall size of the cooling element. This is necessary since the heat transfer with gaseous media at low pressure is particularly low. Air cooled oil cooling is the only mode of  cooling  in dry arid areas or wherever there is a shortage of sufficient clean, cooling water. In hydraulic systems any kind of loss caused by system components such as throttles, valves or pipe friction, result in waste heat or lost energy. This  loss heats up the oil in the system resulting in rising oil temperatures. Without an oil cooler the temperature would rise until the heat dissipation capable with radiation and natural convection is in balance with the generated heat loss. This temperature is usually unacceptably high since modern hydraulic systems become smaller and more compact. Oil coolers are a well-proven and economic method for surplus heat removal. The company’s oil coolers represent the result of many years’ experience and development. The offer includes two variants, in hot dip galvanised steel and aluminium, both of which are extremely robust and particularly well suited to the rough mining industry worldwide. All cooling units are matched with turbulators to suit the end user’s oil viscosity and the internal baffle setup on all  oil coolers is optimised to the customer’s individual flow requirement, always ensuring best performance to cost ratios and thermally optimised solutions.
